And angry mob has lynched a 40-year-old man identified as Brian Wotaala, a resident of Budhana A' village in Bukooma sub county of Luuka district after he killed his seven-year-old son, Patrick Sudayisi.
According to area residents, Wotaala has been a single father looking after his two sons following the death of his wife early last year.
The surviving child whose name has been withheld says that his father hit Sudayisi with an axe in the head before he was rounded off and cornered while attempting to flee the village.
Michael Kasadha the Busoga North police spokesperson, says that detectives have been dispatched to expedite enquires at the scene of crime and efforts of hunting down the perpetrators of mob justice are underway.
The bodies have been taken to Kiyunga health center IV mortuary, awaiting postmortem, before being handed over to relatives for burial.
