Police in Kamuli municipality are searching for assailants who stabbed a teenager and left her to bleed to death.
The deceased is thirteen-year-old Annet Namboira, a resident of Bulondo village in Southern division who met her death on Monday night when an unknown assailant stabbed her in the stomach and left her to die.
The girl’s guardians discovered her lifeless body on Tuesday morning when they checked her room after realizing that she had delayed waking up.
The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, says that Police took the body to Kamuli general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
According to George Byantuyo one of the guardians, Namboira has been a very active girl who would wake up early morning to prepare breakfast for the rest of the family.
He adds that they took her in as the house help after realizing how she was struggling to fend for her life along the streets of Kamuli town.
The area LC 1 chairperson Charles Bamwise says that such criminal activities are a sign of the security lax in their community. He has implored police to step up mobile patrols to help weed out suspected criminal gangs in the entire Kamuli municipality.
Kasadha says that they are collaborating with their counterparts in the neighboring districts to find the killers. He has also called on the community to step up vigilance in their homes to deter criminals from accessing them.
