Over 1600 students graduate at Uganda Christian University

Over 1600 students graduate at UCU

A total of 1, 668 graduates received degrees and diplomas at Uganda Christian University Mukono.

The fourteenth graduation saw 874 females and 794 males get degrees in different disciplines.


The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda and the University’s Chancellor, Stanley Ntagali, urged the graduands not to forget the society which has invested in them.

“You are going to join the world of work where you are expected to make a positive contribution to society,” said Ntagali. “You are called to serve. Do not forget what others have invested in you.” 

He also asked the graduands to obey God and his commandments.

There were 124 students graduating in mass communication, 405 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Those who graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration were 121.  

A total of 87 graduated with master’s degrees - 60 males, 27 females. Eight graduated with a Master of Public Health Leadership (Save the Mothers).  There were 38 first class honors.

Dr. Graham Walker, President of the Patrick Henry College, Virginia, USA, who was the guest of honor, reiterated the need for the graduands to trust and believe in God as “you set out on this journey. Life will be challenging, at times confusing. But you will need a sound head. Face it with respect and confidence.”
