On Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Dwayne Johnson opened up about the beef between him and his Fast and Furious co-star, Tyrese Gibson. The beef began late last year when a Furious spin-off starring Johnson was announced, and Gibson took to Instagram with some furious posts in response, blasting Johnson.
A fan called into the show and asked Johnson if he’s talked to Gibson since then. Johnson responded, “Great question, and the answer is no. No, we haven’t talked at all, and, ya know, that whole thing with Tyrese was pretty disappointing because I’d been friends with Tyrese for a very long time. And I always feel like a beef requires two people to actually jump in it, and it was really one-sided, and he had voiced his opinion a lot on social media.” Johnson added, “…we haven’t talked and I don’t see where we would, and to me, there’s no need to have a conversation.”
Johnson was less willing to talk about his ongoing beef with another Furious co-star, Vin Diesel, who Johnson had called unprofessional. In a game of Plead the Fifth, Cohen asked, “What was the most unprofessional behavior you witnessed from Vin on set and will you ever film a scene with him again?” Johnson replied, “I’ll plead the fifth.”
Johnson also spoke briefly about a beef that’s no longer burning: The one between him and fellow wrestler-turned-actor, John Cena. “I think we’ve squashed that,” Johnson said. “As matter of fact, John is going to star in one of my movies that I’m producing, and I think he’s doing great. He’s done great in his transition and I think he’s gonna continue to work hard.”
