Many questions have been raised on why Rema's de’ facto mother, Halima Namakula, didn't attend her Kukyala on independence day in Naguru.
Reports suggested she had been bounced at the entrance.
The retired musician has come out to trash the rumours and confirmed that she was out of the country.
“People are all over social media to make all sorts of accusations but everyone knows that I attend the UNAA Convention annually and after UNAA, I spend time with my other children and grandchildren in living in U.S. My family and I discussed Rema’s function and we decided there was no reason of me being in Uganda for the first function because I am a mother to REMA, not a Senga,” Halima said during an interview.
Halima further went ahead to confirm that she will attend Rema’s introduction ceremony in November.
