Gospel singer Exodus has asked for forgiveness from his followers and Christians for drinking alcohol and for other wrongs that have been linked to him over years.
During Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s "Katonda Wa Banaku akola" concert, Exodus had a moment on stage where he cried and went down on his knees to say he is sorry for all the wrong things he has done.
“Many things are said about me. They have said I drink alcohol. Some say I am a womanizer. Many of the things said are not true, but they have tainted my image. I have to apologize because people believe them,” he said.
Exodus also admitted that he was drinking alcohol at some point in the past.
“I won’t deny. I have never taken alcohol but I quit. Alcohol is not good. I was a young man, now that I am old I make better decisions,” he concluded.
In 2019 during an interview at Just Comedy, he did not refute the claim of drinking but rather quoted the book of Proverbs 23:20-23.
“Don’t drink too much wine and get drunk; don’t eat too much food and get fat. Drunks and gluttons will end up on skid row, in a stupor and dressed in rags”.
His response attracted loud cheers and the next few days, he was seen in a photo with a bottle of Hennessey.
