Musician Joshua Baraka has worked on quite a number of songs, but he has never recorded one in Luganda despite being Ugandan and born in Kampala.
The singer says it's hard for him to sing in Luganda, not because of his fan base, but because he is afraid of making a mistake that could have significant consequences for him.
The singer explained that he speaks Luganda fluently, but he has so far found it difficult to execute while singing.
Joshua adds that he chose to focus on the English language because he is comfortable with it.
"I speak Luganda fluently, but it is hard for me to sing in it. It's challenging because even a small change can alter the meaning. So, I chose to stick to English because that's what I am comfortable with," he explained.
It should be noted that most of Joshua Baraka's fans are outside Uganda, and he once remarked that he has more fans in London compared to those in Uganda.
