Rising star Gloria Bugie, popular for her chart-topping hits 'Nyash' and 'Finally,' has issued a strong warning to young female artists looking to break into the music industry. Speaking on Galaxy TV’s popular talk show "The Deep Talk," hosted by Mr. Henrie, the singer shared a sobering message about the challenges women face in the industry and urged them to wait until they have the right support before starting their careers.
“Hold on to your dreams, but don’t jump into the industry without a manager or serious, determined support,” Gloria said. “If you’re not careful, you’ll be used to the point of hating what you love and have dreamed about your whole life.”
The emotional statement came after she recounted a personal experience where a well-known producer allegedly withheld her song despite her paying 800,000 UGX for production. According to Gloria, the producer refused to release the track after she rejected his sexual advances. Though Mr. Henrie suggested he could name the producer and have her confirm, Gloria declined, explaining she didn’t want to create unnecessary enemies within the industry.
