Things got heated recently when promoters, led by Abbey Musiguzi (Abitex) and Balaam, decided to ban musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso from performing. This decision came after a fight between the two artists caused damage to property and even injured some fans.
However, filmmaker and director John Segawa strongly disagrees with this ban. He believes promoters don't have the authority to stop artists from performing. Segawa didn't hold back in his criticism, particularly of Abitex. He made some very personal and offensive remarks, saying,
"One of those, Abitex is a disabled person with a bump which creates a lot of chaos for him because it coordinates with the brains. His brains are affected and always speaking nonsense." Segawa went on to suggest the promoters are more like "tiktokers" than serious professionals and that they've lost their way.
Instead of banning the artists, Segawa thinks the promoters should be working to resolve the conflict between Alien Skin and Pallaso. It's clear Segawa feels the promoters' actions are misguided and that a more constructive approach is needed.
It's important to note that Segawa's comments about Abitex's disability are highly inappropriate and offensive. Using someone's disability to attack their character is never acceptable.
