Meek Mill managed to snag the hottest female MC in the game as his lady, but once upon a time, he was just a friend on the sidelines giving her relationship adivce. Speaking with Sway, the rapper said that, not too long ago, he offered some words to Nicki Minaj while she was having hard times with her now ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels.
"Do what's best for you, really. I'm not no hater," he said on Sway's Universe. "Do what's best for you. Whatever you feel in your heart. 'Cause I don't want to be in the middle of something and that ain't how you really feel."
While some may see this as Meek's plan all along, he reassured listeners that he's no "Mr. Steal Your Girl" as he never planned on dating the Queen Barb in the first place. "I'm the type of dude I always have my own money coming in. I been making my own money," he said. "I ain't never really have plans of Nicki Minaj being in my future and helping me be successful. I already thought I was gonna be successful."
When she was ready to pursue a relationship, though, the Philly MC was all in. "I be wanting to be a part of something that's genuine and 100 percent," he said." So, make sure you know what you're doing. Make sure you fully want to do this. And I'm here. I'm with it."
Delving further into his bae's past situation, the "All Eyes On You" rapper commented on Samuels' claim that he and Nicki had him banned from the 2015 BET Awards. "I don't get people banned; that's like calling the cops," he told Sway. "We don't call the cops on people and s**t like that. What we gotta get him banned from the BET Awards for? He ain't never been at the BET Awards himself. I don't even think he was invited."
The MC even added that the "Only" rapper asked him if there was any truth to the allegations. "She asked me like, 'He said I said it. You did it?' I was like, 'No.' I don't get people banned. I be wanting to see everybody. I don't never try to get people away from me. People try to get away from me."
