KAMPALA, November 2 – The festive period is slowly getting its presence felt and many people have started looking out for events to relieve their stress. For the fun lovers in Arua and Lira, Mirinda Comedy will next month serve as a starting tone to their season’s festivities.
The Lira show is set for November 13 at Lira Hotel and the following day, the tour will head to West Nile district of Arua for a show at Heritage Courts.
The hottest comedic talent from Uganda’s premier comedy groups and musician Nutty Neithan of the “Bakuwe Kyonywa” fame will work alongside some top resident musicians and comedians to deliver a fresh and exciting experience for the people in the two towns.
Mr Innocent Tibayeita, the head of Sales and marketing at Crown Beverages Limited, says:
“As we have a proven track record of supporting talent and keeping our consumers entertained after a hard day’s work, the shows in Lira and Arua will help Mirinda maintain its connection with consumers and also provide a platform for the brand to live true to its promise; Free your fun side.”
Mirinda has been a strong partner to Ugandan comedy over the years, thus the introduction of an only-comedy platform last year. Initially, the platform was for comedians in Kampala and Jinja but since then, a host of shows have taken place in other towns and more than 50 comedians have been identified in those areas.
“We expanded the partnership so as to bring leading comedians allover Uganda on board, tap into Ugandans’ love for music and take this fantastic experience to the rest of the country.”
The comedians expected to give doses of laughter to the Lira and Arua audiences are; Prince Ehmah now called Napoleone, Salvador Idringi (Man from Ombokolo), Alex Muhangi, Ronnie McVex, among others. Nutty Neithan will perform all his chart-busters and new songs, too.
The Mirinda Comedy, Mr Timothy Luzinda, the brand manager, says embodies the true character of brand Mirinda, which comes in a variety of flavors including; Fruity, Orange, Pineapple and Green Apple.
The shows will start at 7pm.
