Bakri Mat of the 18 & Over fame had a solo carrier before he met with dance/ragga artist AK47, who later change his name to Akay. The duo released some great songs but regardless of the effort they put in, the songs never became hits. Together, they released songs like "Gweyaliwo", "Story" and "Twazilwanako ft. Sheebah Karungi".
Bakri might be back to his solo career.
Team No Sleep is made up of artists Pallaso, Sheebah Karungi, Akay, Beenie Gunter, Lydia Jazmine ... and more. The group is currently having an eastern tour—Yesterday, the performed in Mbale, and tonight, they perform in tororo.
About 5 minutes ago, Pallaso updated his status with a post that read:
Tororo The sun is going down and that means that its about to go down !! TNS we all together bring ya the Go Down Low in Kidandali Movement !!!
However, Bakri hasn't had any performances with the team since they started the music tour all over Uganda.
We've recieved reports that Bakri's dad asked him to avoid #TNS because he is a muslim, ... and all the team does is drink, smoke shisha and chase girls. Bakri's father says that's not the life a true muslim should live. Bakri, who respects his father's advice, took it and quit the group.
Further reports say that in TNS, there were misunderstandings between the Bakri and Akay and our source from the inside adds that their differences are unsolvable.
Do you think Bakri will make it on his own? -- Leave us a comment.
