Following the release of the nominees of the MAMA Awards, Ugandan celebrities and fans are divided on the issue of who should have made it to the list.
Among those who have earned the nomination includes; John Blaq, Sheebah, Bebe Cool, Vinka and Spice Diana.
Some musicians are happy and described the nomination of artistes as a great milestone for Uganda, others say the list is lacking.
Naira Ali says, “#MTVMAMA Winnie Nwagi, Pallaso, B2C MusicUg, Eddy Kenzo, worked so hard this year but since it's all about technical know who and bureaucracy tugende nekiriwo.”
Many are not happy that Kenzo,.who is considered as Uganda’s biggest export in the music business is not on the list.
Fans cited unfairness in the nomination process.
They claim that a number of artistes like Fik Fameica, Crysto Panda, B2C deserved to make it to the list at the expense of the likes of Bebe Cool.
