It is almost two years, musicians in Uganda have not set a foot on stage to perform for fans.
Their biggest source of revenue was closed due to the President’s directive that stopped all gatherings due to the Covid-19.
Due to the pandemic, music writer Yesse Oman Rafiki recently upgraded from writing to singing.
He says musicians are too broke to buy songs.
“Musicians are no longer buying songs and this pandemic has taught me to always have an extra source of income. I was forced to ask myself what would happen if singers stopped buying our songs. What would I do? I, therefore, concluded that I should also release my songs," said during an interview.
Yesse Oman Rafiki has so far released some songs including "Ssekibogo", "Mirembe" featuring Jose Chameleone, and his latest release is "Wampita".
