Musician David Lutaalo stressed in an interview that he will not seek consent from the promoters to stage his shows.
The singer explained he owns the copyright to his musical works, he doesn't need any promoter to tell him what to do.
"I don't need any approval from music promoters. It's my music and I have that right to eat from my hard work. I will stage the shows with my management and never will I seek a letter from Uganda promoters Association," he said in an interview with local television.
David Lutaalo's comments come weeks after the leadership of the National promoters Association (NPA) announced artists will have to seek approval from their offices before staging shows and concerts.
