Legendary producer Paddy Man has revealed that he has never received payment in terms of royalties for all the songs he has produced.
The producer urges artists to always credit producers for their neighboring rights so they can be compensated for their work. He believes that the money given during the production of the song is merely for studio time and upkeep, emphasizing that producers deserve more.
"I have never received my royalties because copyright gives us a share on every song we produce through neighboring rights, and this money is separate from that of musicians. It is specifically for the producers," he explained.
"I have heard many claim that we are paid during production, but that's money for studio time and upkeep," he added.
Paddy Man, however, states that he is working to register all the songs he has produced and is already reaching out to musicians for credit so that he can start receiving royalties from collecting bodies.
