Music Producer Washington is Ugandan, but he has worked across most African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, among others.
Washington, however, says that musicians in other countries have already paid him royalties, but Ugandan singers are reluctant to do so.
Washington explained that he receives money every month from all those countries except his own, which doesn't sit well with him.
"I am an international producer working across various countries, from Rwanda to Burundi, Kenya to Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, and Nigeria. While I receive royalties from these places every month, strangely, I don't receive them from my own country. Ugandans have a culture of knowing what needs to be done, yet seem reluctant to follow through," he said in an interview with NTV Uganda.
Washington is famously known in Uganda for his work with the defunct Gudlyf crew, Bobi Wine, Chameleon, Blu*3, Bebe Cool, among others.
