Fresh off his electrifying performance at the Noise Nation Festival, Jamaican dancehall star Dexta Daps didn't just leave Uganda with memories – he left with new music! He's been busy in the studio, cooking up not one, but two exciting collaborations with some of Uganda's hottest talents.
While he was in the country, Dexta Daps hit up two of Uganda's top studios: Talent Africa's TAG Studios and Swangz Avenue. At TAG Studios, he linked up with Beenie Gunter and they laid down a track that's sure to be a banger. Then, he headed over to Swangz Avenue to join forces with Winnie Nwagi and Elijah Kitaka on another track that fans are already buzzing about.
Dexta Daps was clearly blown away by his time in Uganda, saying,
"This Uganda trip will always be special to me – it was my first time in Africa! The people, the energy, and the way I was welcomed were incredible. I knew I had to record with some Ugandan artists. I was so glad to meet these amazing, talented people."
As if that wasn't enough, he had this to say too.
"I was speaking to Karole Kasita. I’ve seen her on social media before, but I didn’t know she was from Africa, specifically Uganda. She actually texted me back in 2019. We’ll also be in the studio together tonight"
These collaborations are a huge deal for the Ugandan artists involved, and they show how much Dexta Daps believes in mixing things up and bringing different musical worlds together. Keep an eye out – they'll be announcing when these new tracks are dropping soon!
