Musician Hatim and Dokey, also known as Dokta Brain, once worked together as a duo.
They made songs together, with Hatim as the producer, and Dokey wrote them down.
Hatim has since confirmed Daddy Andre's allegations of Dokey copying his music. He explained that many times Dokey wrote songs based on Daddy Andre's compositions.
Hatim says Dokey often listened to Daddy Andre's compositions while writing down his lyrics, and many of the songs became big hits and popular.
"People just didn't understand Daddy Andre, but he was right. They don't copy his words, but they do his composition. One time Dokta Brain asked me to produce Daddy Andre's riddim; he put in the words and sold the song to someone, and it blew up," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Hatim's confession comes months after Daddy Andre alleged that Dokta Brain plagiarized his craft.
The confession also shows Dokta Brain's deep connection with African sound and his appreciation for Daddy Andre's writing and production skills.
