This antagonism has been cooking for quite some time.
It started 22nd Feb when Bebe Cool referred to Eddy Kenzo as an upcoming artist;
“Eddy Kenzo is an upcoming artiste, you cannot compare me to him. Kenzo is a lucky artiste who is still struggling to find himself” said Bebe Cool — this statement caused a stir on social media and created hatred… that was 4 months ago.
Now, Eddy Kenzo has become one of the most trending artists in Uganda because of his good music, he has won the BET award and is the first East African artist to win it.
The Award earned his fans a crazy amount of bragging rights, even made some fans believe that Kenzo is technically better than some music legends Bebe Cool included.
However, Cool still insisted that kenzo is still an upcoming regardless of the BET award win.
The “Byebyo” singer was confident that he would win at the MAMAs where he had been earlier nominated, But despite his best efforts to get fans to vote for his Video “Love You Everyday”, he still failed to scoop the Award.
Battered and bruised Bebe Cool fans were on a hunt for an opportunity to the get back their supremacy while Eddy Kenzo’s fans look to further expand their dominance.
Yesterday evening, an opportunity presented itself in the AFRIMMA Awards, where both artists, Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo were nominated in the same category of “East Africa’s Best Male Artist”… this is a perfect chance for both artists to show case who is really the best of best.
Meanwhile, both artistes are expected to battle other prominent names including Tanzanian MAMA Award winner Diamond Platinumz.
