The Uganda National Examinations Board, UNEB has this morning released the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education UACE examinations 2015.
During the event held at UMA Lugogo in Kampala, the outgoing UNEB secretary Mathew Bukenya said a total of 101,268 candidates registered for the 2015 examination from 2,003 centres, compared to 108,419 candidates from 1,803 centres in 2014, a decrease of 7,448 candidates (-6.6%).
The overall performance of candidates in the 2015 UACE examination shows that a very high percentage of candidates, (97.8%) qualified for the award of the UACE, about the same level with 2014 at 97.4%.
UNEB Chairperson, Mary Okwakol said: “The results are being released earlier than ever before; a full two weeks earlier than those of 2014. This has been possible because of the Board’s deliberate adoption and incorporation of ICT into its operation.”
Results of 279 (0.27%) of candidates who sat, have been withheld. Most have been due to assistance, possession of unauthorized material in the examination room and collusion.
The most affected subjects are Mathematics, Subsidiary Mathematics, and Subsidiary ICT and Art. Affected schools include; St Balikuddembe SS Lwabenge, St. Peter’s SS Katukuru, Creamland SS Mbarara, Bukandula College, Gomba, Uplands High School, Mutundwe, and many others.
