The national water and Sewerage Corporation, Uganda’s main water utility has announced a crisis at its Ggaba substation leading to an interruption in the supply across Kampala capital.
The water supplier announced that their electricity counterparts, UMEME have a planned power shutdown at the Ggaba substation.
Power is used to pump water from Lake Victoria. This is in turn supplied across the city.
NWSC took to their social media platforms and warned the public to harvest enough water and use it sparingly ahead of tomorrow’s one-day dry spell.
