Dr. Diana Atwiine, the head of State House Health Unit has been appointed as the new Permanent secretary for the ministry of health.
Dr. Atwiine who has been serving the capacity since 2009 replaces Dr. Asuman Lukwago at the ministry.
The appointment follows continued bickering between Minister Dr. Ruth Aceng and Lukwago with belief that the latter has on several occasions disrespected the former who used to be his junior before her elevation to the ministerial position.
Dr. Atwine is a Physician Specialising in Internal Medicine and has skills in Leadership and Management which she has studied from various institutions.
She has in the past worked as a senior researcher in HIV and infectious diseases at the Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC) for over 10 years.
