The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) executive secretary Mr Dan Odongo has disclosed that minor cases of examination malpractice have been reported in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) which started.
According to Mr Odongo, despite all parts of the country receiving question papers at the storage stations by Tuesday, Wakiso and Luwero reported minor reports of examination malpractice after scouts reportedly received question paper envelops that had been tampered with.
He was addressing journalists at UNEB offices in Ntinda on Wednesday when re revealed that the affected schools include Kitebi Primary School in Wakiso and St Augustine Primary School in Zirobwe, Luwero District.
In Kawempe Maganjo, police is still hunting for a head teacher and co-founder of God’s Will Primary School Maganjo, Jackson Mpomba who disappeared yesterday, leaving 13 pupils stranded.
The pupils missed out on this year’s examinations even after paying all necessary fees.
Odongo adds that in Budaka District, police arrested two distributers for allegedly rejecting police envelopes and later reporting accidents resulting in damaged question paper envelopes.
He explains the distributers have since been replaced, while in Rakai and Kabarole districts, several centres were discovered having same supervisors for the last several years.
Primary leaving examinations across the country started yesterday and will end this afternoon.
However, no shortages of question papers or centres missing their parcels have been reported.
