Victoria University after the Acting Vice Chancellor, Deans and Heads of department resigned without notice.
According to a statement released by the University council chairperson Mr. David B Matovu, the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Deans and Heads of department resolved not to report for work effective 1st November 2016.
This according to Mr. Matovu is tantamount to breach of their contract of employment and dismissal of themselves from the University services.
“The University therefore, appoints Mr. Nyakana Joseph who is the University Registrar to serve as the acting Vice Chancellor until further notice” the statement reads.
The council also assured the public that all university services will not be interrupted.
Victoria University Uganda, also known as Victoria University Kampala, is a university in Uganda, accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.
The University is owned by Ruparelia group of tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia who recently lost his bank (Crane Bank) for being undercapitalized.
