President Yoweri Museveni has joined a number of other world leaders to congratulate Republican Donald Trump on his victory.
Trump beat Democrat Hilary Clinton to be America’s 45th President.
In his message via twitter, Museveni congratulated Trump and said he was looking forward to good relations like he has had with his predecessors.
“I congratulate @realDonaldTrump upon his election as USA president. I look forward to working with him like I've done with his predecessors.”
Meanwhile, Tanzania’s president, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli too congratulated Mr. Trump via a tweet assuring him of continued good relationship with Tanzanians. “Congratulation President-Elect Donald Trump and the People of America. Tanzanians and I assure you of continued friendship and cooperation” Magufuli wrote.
Burundi’s Pierre Nkurunziza also congratulated Trump on behalf of his country. “Mr. @realDonaldTrump, on behalf of the people of Burundi, we warmly congratulate you. Your Victory is the Victory of all Americans.”
Their Kenyan counterpart on the other hand sent a long message congratulating him and consoling his rival Clinton.
“Kenya congratulates Mr Trump for his victorious campaign, and his main opponent, Mrs Hillary Clinton, for her valiant effort. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. They have chosen Donald Trump as their 45th President.”
