Ms. Biira was arrested last night alongside her husband and other friends who had come to attend her traditional wedding.
According to police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the journalist was arrested for going beyond security boundaries.
This afternoon, she was driven in a police car to her home which officers of the flying squad searched before taking her back to Kasese police station where she is being held.
Earlier this morning, Kaweesi said Biira would be released on police bond, but when her family showed up at the police station, they were denied access to her and instead insisted that her father comes to the station first.
