Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo has warned that members of Parliament from Kasese will be arrested if they do not stop making comments on the November 2016 clashes.
Speaking at the media center this afternoon, Opondo was quoted saying MPs making comments of Kasese being connected to ICC may even be facing court and they won't run away from the hand of justice.
During a short press conference held at the media center shortly after the Kasese legislators held a victory presser at centenary park, OO said there is no way ICC comes in for the case of Kasese.
He explains that no one can say people who died were from a specific ethnic group. Opondo also clarifies that International laws allow Governments to use force and that the burden is on those accusing to Government to state their case.
“There is no law internationally that says Government shouldn't use its powers. It's that which Government used in Kasese” OO said.
He however said that government cannot stop Members of Parliament from speaking through the media even if it's about Kasese
