Assistant inspector general of police, AIGP Asan Kasingye has been appointed chief political commissar and police spokesperson replacing slain AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
In a letter dated March 22nd, the IGP, Gen. Kale Kayihura also appointed AIGP Fred Yiga Director Interpol and International relations, replacing Kasingye.
The changes which take immediate effect, follow the brutal assassination of former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
He was assassinated outside his home in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb, on Friday, alongside his driver and bodyguard. Kaweesi was laid to rest on Tuesday in Lwengo district.
