The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has called upon Muslims across the country to work hard in order to earn a living and not to be tempted into evil.
Mufti Mubajje was Sunday delivering his message to hundreds of Muslims gathered at Quadafi mosque to celebrate Eid El Fitr, the climax of Ramadan.
Mubajje congratulated Muslims for having finished the holly month and urged them to remain true to their religion.
Mubajje said though investigations into the recent killings and arrest of Muslims are not yet concluded, Muslims should remain law abiding and wait for the results. He urged Muslims to be law abiding citizens and to cooperate with religious leaders to end the current disagreements.
Sheikh Mubajje condemned the violence and war-fare in the Arab world and asked leaders to use peaceful means to resolve their conflicts. He argued that Islam is a religion of peace.
Sheikh Anas Ssesimba, a member of College of Sheikhs said that while the holy month ended peacefully, they were pressed by commodity prices which pushed the cost of living up.
