Former DP president and Kampala Mayor, Dr. John Ssebaana Kiizito will be accorded a state burial. According to a tentative program seen by Howwe.biz, Kizito’s will be moved from the funeral home on the morning of Thursday July 6th.
The Kampala Capital City Authority, KCCA councilors and technical team will then pay tribute from 08:00am to 10:00am, before the body is taken to Parliament at 11am. There will be a public viewing in the lobby, and later chamber eulogies.
A night vigil will then be held at his home in Kasanga. On Friday, Mass will be held at SWICO house from 8:00am to 10:00am by the Archbishop of Kampala, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, thereafter, a memorial service will be held at Namirembe Cathedral, from 11:00am to 4:00PM.
The body will later on Friday evening be transported to his ancestral home where a night vigil will be held, at Mpande, Kalule Luweero District.
Burial will take place on Saturday at 2:00PM, after a church service which will start at 10:00am, at Mpande, Kalule-Bulemeezi.
The late Kizito succumbed to a stroke on Monday morning, at Nakasero Hospital where he has been under observation for weeks.
