While commissioning a new water treatment plant in Luzira recently, Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Ms Jennifer Musisi Semakula KCCA will hold an investor conference soon to lobby investors to finance construction of a multi-purpose dump fill in Ddundu in Mukono District to manage city waste.
Musisi also raised concerns on the growing garbage problem in Kampala and sought for intervention from other stakeholders.
It was upon this background that Uganda Baati Limited through its commitment to the Health, Environment and Education in the communities where they operate donated 50 dustbins to Makerere University Business School (MUBs) last
“This donation further affirms Uganda Baati's commitment in the communities where they operate. We shall continue supporting this community in all the ways we are can” Said George Arodi, the CEO Uganda Baati Limited.
According to Prof. Moses Muhwezi (L) the Deputy Principal Makerere Business School, the 50 dustbins that were donated will go towards keeping the campus clean.
“Garbage has been a serious problem, we thank Uganda Baati for this and we pledge to continue supporting them as they have supported us. Our other task is now to ensure we sensitize the students to use them effectively” Muhwezi said.
