One person is dead and two were injured when a vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a trailer at Nakazzi weighbridge in Luweero district. The accident occurred in the wee hours of this morning.
Speaking to Galaxy fm on phone this morning, the savannah region police spokesperson Paul Kangave explained that the deceased was travelling in premio reg. no. UAK 514U with two other occupants.
According to Kangave, the premio which was racing from Gulu to Kampala rammed into the trailer reg.no.CGO 4028AA07/CGO5891AA07 which was branching off at the weighbridge.
The deceased has been identified as Lt. Benson Embogo whose body was taken to Kasana health centre 4 for postmortem before it is handed over to the family, while the injured were rushed to Bombo military hospital.
Kangave advised motorists to be vigilant when driving on the highways at night, as the country prepares for the festive season.
Driver of the trailer, a one Abdu Awada was arrested to help with the inquiries.
