Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake, has made his maiden appearance at parliament after returning from the US where he was receiving medical treatment, following the infamous September 27th security raid on parliament.

Zaake was admitted at Mercy hospital in Minnesota in October after he was badly injured in a scuffle that left over 25 MPs suspended and many in opposition arrested.

The youthful legislator nearly lost his life when he collapsed and lost consciousness as unknown security agents carried him out of the house.

But, clad in all red attire, Zaake showed up at parliament, looking weak but ready to fight on, as opposition MPs ready themselves to counter the NRM camp on the age limit. We have since learned that the Bill is not on the order paper and will not be discussed today.

However, Zaake says he is still traumatized by the events that nearly took his life and has so many questions for the speaker.

I am traumatized by this building, the security presence and so many other things. I am still weak with pain, but I am taking pain killers. I can see total recovery soon. I want to ask the speaker, who were those people that nearly killed me” Zaake told the press at Parliament today.

The NRM caucus is meeting at the Prime minister’s office to strategize on how to tackle the Bill that has left the country divided, some citizens dead and others rotting in jail.
