Months after suspension of Joseph Akiiki, the former Gulu District Police Commander, the Inspector General of Police-IGP, Kale Kayihura has finally replaced him and transferred 10 other police commanders.
Troubled Akiiki was interdicted after he was shot by a security guard in November 2017 for illegally accessing Taks Center. Now, Kayihura has relieved Akiiki of his duties as Gulu District Police Commander and replaced him with Emmanuel Mafundo from Maracha district.
The IGP has appointed Faustine Oyese, the former Gomba DPC to replace Mafundo in Maracha. The transfers are contained in a message issued on Tuesday.
The other transfers include; SP Ssenyonjo Abbas from Butebo to Arua as DPC, SP Odonga Tony Anyakuj from course to Katakwi as DPC, SP Kakaire Adam Mulondo from Adjumani to Kyankwanzi as DPC, SP Kanyesigye Jamal from Course to Kiboga as DPC, SP Syamutyangira Simon from course to Adjumani as DPC, ASP Robert Kuzala from Otuke to Gonna as DPC, ASP Edwin Turyomwe from Moroto to Otuke as DPC and ASP Twaha Buyinza from Kyankwanzi to Butebo as DPC .
