President Yoweri Museveni is a very happy and appreciative man who has promised to show his gratitude to Members of Parliament with thick skins who supported his bid for life presidency.
According to Ruth Nankabirwa the Government Chief Whip, the president and NRM government will recognize the 317 NRM lawmakers who voted in support of the removal of presidential age limit from the Constitution this month with a huge feast.
The chief whip who recently promised to deal with all rebel MPs that refused to side with government told reporters on Thursday, that the event will be held on February 25th at Kiboga Saza grounds with President Museveni as the chief guest.
The constitutional amendment bill was signed into law by President Yoweri Museveni at the close of last year, after it was passed amid chaos by members of Parliament.
Moments leading to its passing were very dramatic leading to the suspension of some MPs from opposition. Their move to stop the process using court orders were also frustrated by police and other security agents who were deployed at the house to ensure smooth passing of the controversial bill.
Two MPs were injured in the scuffle and had to be flown abroad for medical attention. They have since recovered.
