Uganda police force with the help of Wananchi and fishermen has recovered bodies of three people who drowned in River Nile, Adjumani district.
The bodies of Isaac Ochen, an employee of Obongi ferry, Charles Ambayo, a driver with a Non-Governmental Organisation in Obongi and unidentified boda boda rider from Adjumani were recovered on Tuesday morning by the police, fishermen and residents according to Josephine Angucia, the police spokesperson for West Nile.
The horrific death of the trio came when they drowned after their boat locally known as "Bawo Tatu" capsized at around 8pm on Sunday evening as they were rowing from Adjumani landing side to Sinyanya in Obongi County.
Meanwhile, the fourth person only identified as Drate survived the accident after swimming on to a water hyacinth bed.
According to Angucia, police has launched investigations into what could have caused the boat to capsize.
However, hon. Hassan Kaps Fungaroo the Obongi County MP who was in the constituency at the time of the accident blamed the ferry management for being rigid and refusing to pick up their colleague, who asked for their help.
