Police in Jinja is investigating two witch doctors on allegations of murder of a one Lekuru Sabina aged 38. The decesed was murdered last month, and the body found lying in a sugar cane plantation in Busede Sub County, Jinja district.
However, the body was later exhumed and a post-mortem carried out at Jinja Referral Hospital, where it was confirmed that she had died as a result of strangulation, and her private parts were also damaged.
Viola Tabu, the deceased’s sister last week lodged a complaint against Paul Mutakatifu, a witchdoctor whom she claims was last seen with the deceased in a motor vehicle registration number UAQ 667R.
The Uganda Police force officers together with Ali Mboono of the anti-human sacrifice Uganda then conducted a search at the homes of Mutakatifu and Martin Mulindwa, in Namasiga village, Busede Sub County, arresting Mulindwa, while Mutakatifu fled.
The witch is currently being detained at Kakira police station in Jinja as he awaits prosecution in the courts of law, and according to Onesmus Mwesigwa, the Kiira region police commander, investigations into the case are ongoing.
