President Yoweri Museveni has received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at his Kisozi Farm in Gomba District.

The president and a delegation that comprises officials from the UAE Chamber of Commerce and led by an Envoy, Mr. Abdallah Sultan Alowais, who is also Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Chamber of Commerce, discussed strategic areas of investment in Uganda.

Mr. Alowais revealed that they have identified a fifty-acre piece of land in Busoga on which they plan to establish a technical school to be operational in the next eleven months.
The President told his guests that Uganda is one of the biggest producers of bananas in the world and exports them to Ugandans and Indians in diaspora in Canada and the United Kingdom. He said that Uganda will increase the volume of banana exports because the country has a big potential.

Mr. Museveni further said that Uganda has already ventured into the processing and production of banana flour adding that banana flour beats many other processed flour products because of the high food nutrients content in it. He, therefore, urged the UAE Chamber of Commerce to support the banana-processing programme in Uganda.
