Kyadondo East MP, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi enjoyed a one minute freedom after police re-arrested him this morning, produced him before court which in turn remanded him until August 31st.

The MP was arrested this morning after the General Court Martial dropped the charges of illegal possession of firearms and set him free. His lawyer Medard Lubega Ssegona would later inform him that he had received an arrest warrant and they had to immediately appear before the Gulu Magistrates Court.

Despite his prayer for bail, Ssegona could not have his client released. The accused “A33” was however remanded until August 30th when he will appear in court along with the 32 others.

The accused face treason charges stemming from the running battles with police in Arua where one person was killed. The deceased was Yasin, a driver to Bobi Wine.

Some of Bobi’s co-accused are; Arua Municipality MP-elect Kassiano Wadri, MPs Paul Mwiru, Gerald Karuhanga, Francis Zaake, Mike Mabikke among others. They are on remand at Gulu prison until August 30, 2018.

The MPs are accused of leading a team of hooligans who pelted stones at the president’s convoy. The president had been campaigning for Nusura Tiperu the NRM party candidate at Boma grounds on the fateful day.

Ssegona asked Court to allow all his clients access to personal doctors, explaining that one of them, a female had blood oozing from her private parts at the last hearing.

It was at this point that the magistrate ordered prison warders to allow them access to private doctors, and that for those who could not afford these doctors to be treated immediately by prison authorities.

The country today saw firsthand how Bobi Wine was beaten and could not walk on his own. He could only move with the help of a stick and colleagues who supported him all through.
