Three people are dead after a vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road along the Ishaka - Katunguru road, Rubirizi district.
The trio perished last night at Rutoto trading centre in Rutoto Sub County when a Fuso Lorry registration number UAZ 442F which veered off the road killing them instantly.
According to Ahmed Hasunira, the Rubirizi District Police Commander, identified the dead as Derrick Bwambale, Innocent Kahayika both residents of Kasese district and Charles Kigumba the driver of the vehicle.
The DPC says that the lorry which was carrying bicycle spare parts got a mechanical problem after reaching Nkombe hill which is a steep slope.
According to Hasunira, the lorry's brakes reportedly failed to hold and eventually veered off the road and hit a eucalyptus tree.
The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police Spokesperson Martial Tumusiime, says the vehicle was from Kampala heading to Bwera in Kasese district.
