One person has been picked up by officers of the Uganda Police Force in connection to the brutal murder of Archie Rwego, the sales manager of Boma Tiles Company that has left many people in panic.
Police reports indicate that unidentified assailants broke into Rwego’s home in Kira Municipality adjacent to Essella County Hotel in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and stabbed Rwego several times before making off with a few household items.
The victim was being rushed to Najera Hospital when he breathed his last. Now, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire says they are holding a suspect in connection to the attack, but could not mention his names so as not to tamper with investigations.
"Yes, there is someone officers have picked from a clinic, further information will be communicated after the investigations," says Owoyesigyire.
According to Owoyesigire, the suspect was picked up from unnamed clinic in Kira Municipality where he had been rushed by his colleagues for treatment for a dog bite. Reports indicate that the assailants killed Rwego’s dogs before accessing the house, and this suspect could have been injured in the attack.
Rwego’s relatives said a veterinary doctor examined two dogs and told them that they might have been poisoned with a weak chemical that wasn't strong enough to kill them.
The third dog is suspected to have bitten one of the attackers before it was hacked to death. Investigations are in high gear to find the killers who allegedly made off with two bags belonging to Rwego’s wife and a TV set.
