The number of suspects in the murder of Archie Rwego, a resident of Kira Municipality in Wakiso district has hit four after Kira Road Police picked up another suspect in connection to the crime.
The suspect whose name has been withheld by police was arrested from Kamwokya a Kampala suburb on Thursday after another suspect confessed that he was part of the gang.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that while only three suspects entered Rwego's home to carry out the act, the robbery was planned by the four gang members.
Also on the run is late Rwego’s private security guard who furnished the gang with all information about the woman of the house whom he alleged would return home with huge bundles of cash. He also gave them a plan of the house and indicated details on how they could access.
It is remembered that after murdering Rwego, the gang made off with his wife, Dora Asio’s hand bag, their initial target. Currently, the suspect who confessed to all this could not tell police where they hid the stolen items, claiming he left them with his colleagues.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, police are almost ready to proceed with prosecution, but are just waiting for a report on the blood stained clothes found in the home of one of the suspects from the Government Analytical Laboratory.
Police will then compare the samples with the blood of the late Rwego
