Unidentified persons have released a list containing 12 journalists operating in the greater Masaka region warning to kill them.
The list was dropped at offices of the South Buganda Journalists Association on Victoria Road Masaka, leaving the entire fraternity in panic.
The unidentified authors of the list claim they will kill the journalists by poisoning, shooting or hacking. This comes after weeks since another hit list was authored containing names of prominent people including Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga and Betty Kamya the Kampala minister among others.
Journalists who are now walking on eggshells in Masaka include; Dismas Buregyeya of the New Vision, Nsubuga Robert BBS TV, Edward Tomusange , Jamiru Kalani, Male John, Jacinta Bwanika, Ssoi Ssekimpi, Issa Aliga NTV, Gertrude Mutyaba Monitor, Henry Mukasa, Knowman Kabugu and Farish Magembe NBS.
The hit men accuse journalists of meddling in politics and being state agents/spies. The list was discovered this morning by Dismas Buregyeya as he opened offices this morning.
It had been slid under the door, and he believes this could have been done last night. Police is yet to comment on the matter.
