The Mukono Grade One magistrate Mariam Nulugya has charged with murder, and remanded to luzira a police officer who publicly executed the late Ronald Ssebulime.
Corporal David Ssali 46 attached to Nagalama Police Station appeared before the Nulugya on Thursday which heard that Ssali on Sunday, March 24, at Nagojje Trading Center in Kayunga District, shot and killed Ronald Ssebulime.
Rachael Namutebi, who appeared on behalf of the Resident State Attorney, told court that investigations into the case are still on-going and requested for need more time.
This prompted Nulugya to remand Ssali to Luzira Prisons until April, 30th.
Ssebulime’s family lawyer Muwada Nkunyingi, says that he hopes the deceased’s family will receive justice.
On March 24, officers from Nagalama police station in Mukono District connived and gunned down Ssebulime on suspicion of tracking ICT State Minister Idah Nantaba with intentions of harming her.
She had reported to the officers about a suspicious biker who had allegedly been following her for a long distance.
Witnesses told Police that officers on patrol arrested Ssebulime, handcuffed him and dumped him on a police patrol van before they pulled him down and shot him dead.
