Nebbi Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Hashim Sulaiman who was recently thrown out of the house has filed a notice of appeal against a decision by Arua High Court which nullified his election and ordered for fresh elections.

Arua High Court Judge Anthony Ojok, on May 2nd nullified the election of Sulaiman after the petitioner Robert Onega of the FDC party proved that he lacked Advanced Level (A' level) certificate.

The petitioner rushed to court citing irregularities in the electoral process. But, Sulaiman says his team has petitioned Court of Appeal over the matter.

Michael Okecha from OBM Chambers who is representing Sulaiman says the notice of appeal was served to the court registrar. The MP was announced winner in the Nebbi Municipality race after beating his tight contender Onega Robert with a margin of 124 votes.
