Police Investigates Mysterious death of UCE Invigilator in Kabale

According to Rev. Benon Byaruhanga, the head teacher of St Janan Luwum Memorial secondary school Kamuganguzi, the deceased was found dead in her rented house on Tuesday evening.

Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which an invigilator posted by Uganda National Examination Board-UNEB at St. Barnabas Secondary School in Karujanga in Katuna Town council in Kabale district to monitor the ongoing Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams was found dead.  

Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identifies the deceased as 28-year-old Sarah Ayebazibwe, a mathematics and Physics teacher at St. Janan Luwum Memorial secondary school in Kamuganguzi Sub County in Kabale district. Ayebazibwe was found dead in her rented room in Kyonyo trading center in Katuna town council.    

According to Rev. Benon Byaruhanga, the head teacher of St Janan Luwum Memorial secondary school Kamuganguzi, the deceased was found dead in her rented house on Tuesday evening.    

Ayebazibwe was last seen on Monday invigilating exams but didn’t turn up on Tuesday without any explanation.

Her body has been taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem. And Maate says police will issue a statement on the matter later, as they have scanty information at the moment.
