Three people died on spot while five others were critically injuried in an accident that occured on Monday day morning at Mpambire along Kampala-Masaka highway
By press time, police was yet to establish the identities of the deceased and injured.
According to Joseph Turya, the Katonga Region Police spokesperson, the accident occurred when a Mark II registration number UAE 347P from Masaka rammed into a Fuso truck number UBB 942C transporting Irish potatoes and charcoal.
The three people aboard the Fuso truck were killed instantly and their bodies have been taken to the city mortuary pending identification.
Meanwhile, the injured are admitted at Double Cure medical center in Mpigi town council. According to Turya, the accident was caused by the reckless driving by the Mark II driver.
