President Yoweri Museveni has cautioned Ugandans to remain peaceful and security cautious as they enjoy the festive season.
The President made the comment in his Christmas message to all Ugandans in which he promised that police and sister security agencies will do their job of ensuring law and order, but that citizens should also help themselves.
"As you embark on festivities, my call is that you do so responsibly. The police and sister security agencies are on alert to ensure there is law and order. You should do your part as a responsible citizen" he wrote.
The President also wished Uganda a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year, adding that as a country, Uganda has made numerous strides this year that he would enumerate in his end of year message.
He referred to Christmas as a season of celebration but also reflection. On December 31st, President Museveni will deliver his end of year message, highlighting the highs and lows of 2019.
