Uganda Police Force has clarified that the videos circulation on social media of two men laying in the ground and others calling off a building have nothing to do with the COVID19 outbreak in Uganda.

In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says the first video was an incident at Blue Room in Central Kampala, where one person was drunk, lost consciousness and fell.

The other person in the video was allegedly walking and knocked a pole and lost consciousness too. “Police was informed and responded, took the victims in mulago hospital where they are currently recovering” Onyango says.

According to Onyango, the second video is an incident that happened at 2K restaurant Bukasa, on Monday night. “It is alleged that a group of brokers after selling a property, went to the restaurant. They ordered for eats but others developed criminal minds and laced the colleagues’ food with unknown substance, most likely chloroform. After eating, they lost consciousness” Onyango narrates.

Workers at the restaurant later called police which responded and took the victims to the hospital. Police carried out a preliminary search and arrested two suspects, Ssengendo Hussein and Mubiru Ahmad who were found with Shs. 14 million. The suspects are being held at Old Kampala Police station.
The vistims who were taken to mulago are; Ntambi Adat and Abudurahim Kalema.
